There is no direct passenger ferry between Britain and Denmark. The last one, DFDS Harwich to Esbjerg, stopped sailing in 2014. Any site telling you otherwise is out of date, and it matters, because it changes how your belongings travel and how you get there yourself.
That leaves two realistic ways to move a household. By road, crossing the Channel by Eurotunnel or a Dover ferry, then driving up through Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. For Jutland that is the E45 the whole way. For Copenhagen and the rest of Zealand there is the Great Belt bridge to cross as well.
By freight ferry, using the DFDS Immingham to Esbjerg service. It runs six times a week and takes around 18 and a half hours. It carries unaccompanied freight only, so no passengers, which suits a removal trailer or container perfectly. Esbjerg to Copenhagen is roughly a three hour drive from the port.

Access is where Danish moves go wrong more often than customs does. Danish housing splits fairly cleanly by area, and each type brings its own problem. The partner mover will ask about property type before confirming the quote.
Common across central Copenhagen, Frederiksberg and inner Aarhus. Many pre-war blocks have no lift, or a lift too small for furniture. Stairwells are often narrow with tight turns. An external hoist through a window is standard practice and needs booking in advance.
Ribe, Roskilde, central Aarhus and Copenhagen's old quarter have narrow streets, some cobbled, several pedestrianised during the day. A smaller relay vehicle from a nearby loading point is often the only way in. Confirm street access and any timed restrictions early.
The typical setup across Greater Copenhagen's outer municipalities and most Jutland towns. Usually straightforward, with driveway or kerbside parking. Confirm whether a permit is needed to hold road space, as rules vary by municipality.
Farm tracks, single-lane approaches and smaller islands served by local ferry. Some island crossings have vehicle weight or height limits. Confirm the route and any ferry booking well before the move date.

No lift, narrow street, no parking outside. All of it adds hours. Full packing costs more up front and usually saves grief later.

Since Brexit the UK sits outside the EU, so goods coming from Britain need Danish customs clearance. The authority is Toldstyrelsen, the Danish Customs Agency. Note that it is Toldstyrelsen you deal with for goods, not SKAT, which handles tax.
