Quick answer: An office move and a house move are different trades. Downtime, data, records and access permissions matter more than volume. One vetted mover matched free. 07551 855 064.
Moving a business is not moving a large house. The volume may be similar and almost nothing else is.
A household move can slip a day. A business move usually cannot, because the cost is not the removal, it is the hours nobody can work. That single difference drives everything: the sequencing, the labelling, the out of hours working and the price.
Tell us what you are relocating and where to, and we will match you with one vetted mover who handles commercial work in Denmark. Free, and no obligation.
FIDI FAIM is the international quality standard for removal companies. A removal company earns it by passing an independent Ernst and Young audit of more than 200 criteria, re-tested every three years.
International Removals Companies connects each enquiry with one FIDI-certified partner mover. We are the matching layer. The partner firm does the lifting. DATACONTEXT (UK) LTD, company 07425576, has operated the service since November 2010. The enquiry is free.
Free. One FIDI-certified partner mover. No obligation.
Downtime is the real cost. Price the move against the hours lost, not against another quote. A cheaper firm that takes an extra day is not cheaper. This is why commercial moves are often done over a weekend or overnight, and why that premium is usually worth paying.
IT and data. Servers, network equipment and anything holding data need separate handling, and the sequencing matters. Machines come out last and go in first, because nothing else can be tested until they are running. Ask specifically whether the mover has done this before or subcontracts it.
Records and confidentiality. Personnel files, client records and anything covered by data protection cannot travel in unmarked boxes on a shared load. If you handle personal data, the chain of custody needs to be documented, not assumed.
Labelling and floor plans. A household move puts things in the right room. A commercial move puts a specific desk, a specific chair and a specific set of files at a specific workstation, for possibly hundreds of people. That is a planning job before it is a lifting job.
Insurance and liability. Commercial cover differs from household cover, and business interruption is not usually included in a removals policy. Check what is covered and what is not.
Commercial buildings in Denmark are less forgiving than homes on access, and the permissions take longer to arrange.
Business parks. Ballerup, Gladsaxe and the western Copenhagen corridor are corporate territory, and sites there typically have barriers, security gates, designated loading bays with their own booking systems and internal roads that are not public highway. A removal lorry cannot simply arrive. Entry needs arranging in advance, usually with a named contact on the day.
City centre offices. Central Copenhagen and inner Aarhus have the same constraints as residential moves, plus timed vehicle restrictions on many streets. Out of hours working is frequently the only realistic option.
Ports and industrial sites. Esbjerg, Fredericia, Aarhus and Kalundborg all operate controlled access. If your relocation touches one, security clearance and site induction may be required for the crew.
Municipal permits. Denmark has 98 municipalities and holding road space is decided locally. A permit for Copenhagen does not work in Frederiksberg, Gentofte, Tarnby or Hvidovre. On a multi-site move that means several separate applications.
Send the collection postcode, the full Danish delivery address, an inventory, the property type and access details, your preferred date and any special items. One FIDI-certified partner mover confirms the quote.

This is where business moves diverge sharply from household ones, and it matters.
Household goods moving with an individual transferring their residence may qualify for relief from Danish duty and 25% VAT under Toldstyrelsen's conditions. Business assets do not. Office furniture, IT equipment, stock and machinery moving as company property are a normal commercial import, with duty and VAT payable and commodity codes required on the declaration.
Toldstyrelsen specifically excludes commercial vehicles and equipment for a trade or profession from residence relief, although genuinely portable tools are fine.
Two situations get muddled constantly and should not be:
If you are doing both at once, which is common with a small business relocation, they need declaring separately. Mixing them on one declaration is where delays and penalties come from.
Most business moves to Denmark come with people attached, and those are individual household moves that happen to share a deadline.
A few things are worth handling centrally rather than leaving to each person.
Fixed dates need dedicated vehicles. Shared container space waits for other consignments and cannot hit a start date. If staff have to be in place for a specific Monday, that decision is made at the quoting stage.
Furnished accommodation changes the brief. If the company is providing housing, find out what is in it before people ship households they will not unpack. A part load with storage at the UK end is frequently far cheaper.
Temporary postings suit part loads and storage. Somebody on a two year contract rarely needs their whole house in Denmark.
See house removals for the individual side, and part loads for shorter postings.
Commercial access varies sharply by area. Local detail:

Commercial relocation separates moving companies faster than anything, because downtime is unforgiving. Accreditation is how you tell who has actually been checked.
Audited independently by Ernst and Young against more than 200 quality and operational criteria, from how a firm handles client money to how it trains its crews. The audit repeats every three years.
Every mover we match you with holds it.
These tell you a company works to agreed standards and that you have somewhere to take a complaint.
Our network partners come from the AGM Group network, whose website is agm.group. Every one of these removal companies has been checked before it joins.
On downtime as much as volume. The real cost of an office relocation is usually the hours nobody can work, which is why commercial moves are often done over a weekend or overnight and why that premium is generally worth paying. A cheaper firm that takes an extra day is not cheaper.
Yes. Household goods relief applies to an individual transferring their residence. Business assets moving as company property are a normal commercial import with duty and VAT payable, commodity codes required and an EORI number needed. Toldstyrelsen specifically excludes trade and professional equipment from residence relief.
They need declaring separately even if they travel together. A company relocating assets is a commercial import. An employee relocating their own household is a personal residence transfer. Mixing them on one declaration is where delays and penalties come from.
They need separate handling and careful sequencing, because machines come out last and go in first. Nothing else can be tested until the network is running. Ask specifically whether the mover does this themselves or subcontracts it, and how they handle equipment holding data.
More than you would expect. Sites typically have barriers, security gates, designated loading bays with booking systems and internal roads that are not public highway. Entry has to be arranged in advance, usually with a named contact for the day. Ports and industrial sites may also require security clearance for the crew.
If they are in different municipalities, yes. Denmark has 98 municipalities and holding road space is decided locally, so a permit for Copenhagen does not cover Frederiksberg, Gentofte, Tarnby or Hvidovre. A multi-site move means several separate applications.
