Sending a barrel, moving a home, or coming back to the island after years away? We connect you with one vetted partner for shipping and removals to Antigua and Barbuda, from a single barrel to a full container and a car. One short form, one suitable partner, free.
✅ The quick answer — Tell us what you're sending to Antigua or Barbuda and we connect you with one vetted partner. Free.
📦 How you ship — A barrel, a shared (groupage) load, a full container, or a car.
⏱️ How long — Roughly 3 to 5 weeks door to door, usually transhipped through a US hub.
📍 Where it clears — Deep Water Harbour, St John's, then on to your address, including Barbuda.
🏠 Returning home? — Used effects owned a year or more can come in free of duty and ABST.
💰 Money side — Currency exchange in any currency, through trusted partners.
The right option comes down to how much you're moving. A barrel suits clothes, food and gifts for family. A shared container is best value for a part load, since you pay only for the space you use. A full container suits a whole home and can carry a car as well. Whatever you choose, one vetted partner packs, ships and clears it for you.

Cargo for Antigua and Barbuda is usually transhipped, sailing first to a US hub and then on to the island by feeder vessel, so the run takes a little longer than the most direct Caribbean routes. As a rough guide, allow three to five weeks door to door, plus packing before and customs after. Everything clears at Deep Water Harbour in St John's, the country's main commercial port, and anything bound for Barbuda travels on from there. Your vetted partner gives you a firm sailing schedule once your move is booked.
If you're a returning national, an Antiguan coming home to live after years abroad, used household and personal effects can come in free of duty and ABST, as long as they aren't for resale and you've owned and used them for at least a year. You apply to the Customs and Excise Division and a broker files the entry in ASYCUDA World. For other shipments, goods may attract import duty, which averages around 20% but varies by item, plus 15% ABST and a few smaller charges. A couple of things are banned outright, including older R12 and R22 refrigerant gases, so check before sending an old fridge or air-conditioner. Your vetted partner and a local broker handle the paperwork either way.
Moving or settling on the island often means changing money as well as shipping, and a fair rate matters on a big move. For years we've connected customers with trusted partners who handle any currency, so the money side is one less thing to worry about. It's offered through our partners, alongside the shipping.
The service runs both ways. Most of what we do is moves between the UK and Antigua and Barbuda, but we also connect people leaving the island for the UK and the USA, the two homes of the largest Antiguan and Barbudan communities overseas. The sea-freight idea is the same; the customs changes at the other end, and your vetted partner handles it.
Most household belongings travel fine: clothes, bedding, kitchenware, small appliances, tools, books and toys in barrels or boxes; furniture and white goods in a container; and cars by container or roll-on roll-off. Non-perishable food and toiletries fill many barrels for family. Used personal and household effects are what returning nationals bring home under the duty concession.
Some things need care or a permit. Plants, fresh produce, meat and animal products need agricultural clearance; firearms and certain medicines are restricted; and older R12 and R22 refrigerant gases are banned, which matters for old fridges and air-conditioners. We aren't a removal company, a man with a van or a house clearance service — shipping here means sea freight to Deep Water Harbour and customs at the port, which is the work of an experienced international shipper. Your vetted partner flags anything that needs a permit before it sails.
