If you are coming from another EU member state, the customs side of your move simply does not exist. No declaration, no relief application, no reference number, no twelve month deadline. The goods cross the border as freely as they would move within a country.
What does still apply is Austrian registration. You must register your address with the local Meldeamt within three days of moving in, and that requirement has nothing to do with where you came from.

Switzerland and Liechtenstein are the exception again. They sit outside the EU customs union, so a move from Zurich or Vaduz into Austria requires a declaration even though the crossing near Feldkirch takes minutes.

Delivery day customs are also the same whatever direction you arrive from. Most local residential buildings observe Ruhezeiten, quiet hours from roughly 10pm to 6am and all day Sunday, and older city buildings have the narrow stairwells and lift restrictions that shape every move into Vienna, Graz and Salzburg.
Short routes are cheap and fast. Bratislava to Vienna is an hour and often a single day job. Munich to Salzburg is similar. Longer runs from Spain, Portugal or Ireland are multi-day and price closer to a UK move.
Because there is no customs stage, inbound EU moves can be booked with less lead time than a UK move. Two to three weeks is usually enough, though the same summer and month-end pressure applies.
