Pai is a small valley town in the hills between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son, and it has a resident foreign community out of all proportion to its size. Most of it is built around guesthouses, cafes, wellness businesses and the arts scene rather than around work.
Shipments land at Laem Chabang and clear Thai customs there. The road leg is roughly 900 kilometres, about thirteen hours. The town sits in a bowl and the night market fills the centre from late afternoon, so the working window for a delivery is roughly eight until two.

Pai's residents are guesthouse and cafe owners, yoga and wellness practitioners, artists and remote workers, many of whom arrived as visitors and stayed. Very few are here for conventional employment. Shipments reflect that: personal effects, equipment and instruments rather than furniture, because almost every rental comes furnished.
The town more than doubles in size between November and February and the walking street closes the centre every evening in that period, so deliveries run in the morning. The mountain road is at its worst from July to September. April brings both the burning season smoke and the Songkran closures.
