Khon Kaen is the main city of the northeast and the region's university and hospital centre. Many UK arrivals here have married into a Thai family or teach at the university.
Shipments land at Laem Chabang and clear Thai customs there. The road leg is roughly 500 kilometres, about seven hours. The route in is Highway 2, the Mittraphap road, which is dual carriageway most of the way and makes this the easiest of the Isaan deliveries.
