Sweden runs on the personnummer in much the same way Denmark runs on the CPR number, and almost nothing works properly without one.
Bank accounts, mobile contracts, digital identification, healthcare registration, many rental agreements. The Swedish system assumes you have one and there is limited provision for people who do not.
The application is made after you arrive and register your move, and processing takes time. People routinely underestimate it. In the interim you may find yourself unable to open a bank account, which makes paying a deposit awkward, or unable to get a phone contract, which makes everything else harder.
What this means for your removal. If you cannot sign a permanent tenancy until you have a personal number, and you cannot get a personal number until you have registered an address, the sequencing can leave a gap where your furniture has nowhere to go.

Sweden's rental market operates significantly through queuing systems, where waiting time itself is the qualification for a first-hand contract. In the larger cities those waits can run to years rather than months. That is not a bureaucratic quirk to be worked around, it is how the market functions.
Most people arriving take a second-hand contract instead, subletting from someone who holds the first-hand lease. Those are shorter, less secure, and often furnished or partly furnished.
The practical consequence for a move is that your first Swedish home may be temporary and may already have furniture in it. Shipping a full household into a furnished sublet is a common and expensive mistake.

Short, and there are two ways.
The Oresund bridge from Copenhagen to Malmo. Fixed road and rail link, open in all weathers, tolled by vehicle size so a removal lorry pays considerably more than a car. From Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Tarnby or anywhere on Zealand, this is the route.
The Helsingor to Helsingborg ferry. Short, frequent, and it avoids the bridge toll. Suits a departure from north Zealand, from Helsingor, Hillerod or Horsholm.
From Jutland it is different. A move from Aarhus or Aalborg to southern Sweden has to cross the Little Belt and the Great Belt just to reach the Oresund, three crossings in total, and for a northern Swedish destination going round through Sweden's west coast may be more sensible.
No customs at any of them. Both countries are in the EU and the customs union.
The Danish departure works the same way it does for any move out.
Deregister from the CPR system with your municipality, and understand the sequence, because it affects bank access, MitID and health cover, several of which you may still need mid-move.
The hoist works both ways. If your furniture came into an older Copenhagen or Frederiksberg block through a window because there is no lift, it leaves through the window too. Book it rather than assuming.
Permits are municipal. Holding road space at the Danish end is decided by the specific council, not nationally.
Handover inspections. Allow time between the removal and the tenancy handover if you can, because a crew working in a hurry can create damage that becomes your problem at the inspection.
Your car. Deregistering a Danish-registered vehicle may allow you to reclaim part of the registration tax, though not more than was paid.
