Loei is the mountain province of the upper northeast, on the Mekong where Thailand meets Laos. It is the coldest province in the country and the only one where frost is reported most winters, which makes it unlike anywhere else in Isaan.
Shipments land at Laem Chabang and clear Thai customs there. The road leg is roughly 700 kilometres, about ten hours. Because winters here are genuinely cold, arrivals often ship warm bedding and heaters that would be pointless anywhere else in the country.

The cool season from November to February is why people move here, and it is also the easiest window for a delivery. The rainy season makes the mountain roads towards Phu Ruea slippery, and Chiang Khan fills for the walking street season from November, when the riverside lane is closed to vehicles in the evening.
