Udon Thani is the largest city in the upper northeast and has one of the highest concentrations of Western residents outside the tourist areas, mostly men married into Thai families.
Shipments land at Laem Chabang and clear Thai customs there. The road leg is roughly 620 kilometres, about eight and a half hours. Nong Khai and the Laos border are about an hour further, and some arrivals here are moving on into Vientiane rather than staying.

Rural deliveries are much easier in the dry season, November to April, when the village access roads are firm. Between July and October the same lanes turn to mud and the mover will need to shuttle from the sealed road.
Almost all deliveries here are to detached houses with a gate and a yard, which is straightforward. Rural family homes down a village soi may need a shuttle. Give the mover the nearest main road as well as the address, since rural addressing is inconsistent.
