The Zug lake shore where ordinary people actually live, and it is flat.
Cham sits at the northern end of Lake Zug, on flat ground, and it is the commune in this canton where lake frontage comes attached to ordinary housing rather than to a premium address. It grew as an industrial town and the shape still shows.
Swiss lakes usually come with slopes. Lugano climbs, Vevey has vineyard terraces, Meilen is all terraced hillside, Pully drops away from the road. Cham does none of it. The ground at this end of Lake Zug is level and the town is laid out on it.
That removes the shuttle question entirely and leaves an ordinary set of urban problems: where the vehicle stands, what the lift is like, how far the carry runs. All manageable, none involving a gradient.
The town grew around manufacturing rather than tourism, so the building stock is a working mix of older industrial, mid century blocks and newer development rather than a lakefront of villas.
Cham also appears as Cham ZG and Zugersee. Whichever version you searched for, this is the same city and the same page. Give the mover the address exactly as it appears on your Swiss lease.
Cham developed around manufacturing rather than as a resort, which produced a mix of building types rather than a shoreline of villas. Older industrial buildings, mid century blocks and newer development sit alongside each other.
Where an industrial building has been converted, the usual caution applies: a good conversion has a goods lift and wide doors, a light one has the original stair and nothing else. Ask which yours is.
The mid century and newer blocks are of a normal Swiss standard, with lifts that will generally take a wardrobe.
Three of these come up more than the rest on a Cham move. Start with them.
Sharing a lorry on the Zug and Zurich run.
Furniture up a converted mill stair.

If your Swiss address is not Cham itself, one of these may be closer.

Cham is in the canton of Zug, along with Zug town and Baar, and shares the cantonal position that draws people to the area. Registration on arrival is with the commune of Cham.
There is also a Cham in Bavaria, so it is worth writing Cham ZG with the postcode on anything a carrier will read from a list, particularly if the address is being sent by email.
Everything is German speaking and the address presents no other difficulty.
Swiss lakeside towns usually come with a gradient to explain. Here there is nothing to explain. The ground is flat from the shore back through the town, and a vehicle can reach almost any address.
The result is that the questions become ordinary ones. Is there somewhere to stand, what are the lift dimensions, how far is the carry from the kerb to the door. All of them answerable, none of them expensive.
It also means winter changes nothing. There is no steep approach to worry about and no shuttle stage that becomes difficult after snow.
It is flat. Almost every lakeside commune in Switzerland comes with a slope, whether terraced vineyards, a hillside or ground falling away from the road. At this end of Lake Zug the ground is level from the shore back through the town.
Usually simpler rather than dramatically cheaper. It removes the shuttle stage that a sloping lakeside would need, and it leaves ordinary questions about standing space, lift dimensions and carry distance, none of which are expensive to answer.
A working mix rather than a shoreline of villas. The town grew around manufacturing, so older industrial buildings, mid century blocks and newer development sit alongside each other. The later blocks are of a normal Swiss standard with usable lifts.
The usual caution. A good conversion has a goods lift built for machinery and wide doors, which makes it easier than a modern block. A lighter one has the original stair and no lift at all. Ask which yours is, because the address will not say.
Yes, in Bavaria. Write Cham ZG with the postcode on anything a carrier will read from a list, particularly if the address is being sent by email. It is the same convention used for Baden AG, Wil SG and Lachen SZ for other Swiss towns that share a name.
Yes, along with Baar, and it shares the cantonal position that draws people to the area. Registration on arrival goes to the commune of Cham rather than to Zug town, which is a separate commune in the same canton.
Barely. There is no steep approach and no shuttle stage that becomes difficult after snow, so a winter delivery needs no more allowance than a summer one. That is not true of most lakeside addresses in this country.
