The same canton, the same tax, more housing and rather less premium.
Baar sits immediately north of Zug in the same canton, which means the same cantonal tax position that draws people to the area. What it has that Zug town does not is space, and a good deal more of the canton lives here as a result.
The southern part of the commune runs into Zug and behaves like an ordinary suburb. North of that it extends up the valley, where the addresses are rural: driveways, lane widths, turning space and surfaces after rain. The reason people move to this canton is well known and it applies equally to both communes. What differs is what you get to live in. Zug town is compact, expensive and heavily built around the lake front. Baar has more ground and more of the ordinary housing that families actually need.
For a removal that shows up as larger loads. Where a Zug town arrival is often a professional in an apartment, a Baar arrival is more likely to be a household with children and a full inventory, which usually means a dedicated vehicle rather than a shared one.
