Hat Yai is the commercial centre of the deep south and the largest city below Surat Thani. It is a trade and shopping city with strong Malaysian links, and it sits at the end of the longest road leg in the country.
Shipments land at Laem Chabang and clear Thai customs there. The road leg is roughly 1150 kilometres, about fifteen hours. Because the road leg is the longest in the country, Hat Yai goods are normally consolidated with other southern deliveries rather than sent alone.

Rain peaks between November and January and Hat Yai has flooded seriously in the past, so ground floor storage is worth avoiding in those months. The city is busiest at weekends with cross border visitors from Malaysia, which makes weekday deliveries much easier.
