Spain sends more enquiries to this site than any country outside Britain, and almost all of them come from people who already left the UK once. A Spain to Cyprus move is usually a second relocation rather than a first.
Departures are from Valencia or Barcelona, both on the Mediterranean coast, so goods sail east without rounding anything. The crossing is longer than from Italy and shorter than from Portugal.
The road leg depends entirely on where you are. Alicante and the Costa Blanca are close to Valencia. The Costa del Sol is not: Malaga to Valencia is around 600 kilometres, and Marbella or Estepona further still.
Arrival is Limassol. Beyond it lies up to about 100 kilometres of road to Paphos, Larnaca, Nicosia or the Famagusta free areas.
Valencia serves the Costa Blanca, Murcia, Alicante and the centre. Barcelona serves Catalonia, Aragon and the north east. Both sail east on similar schedules.
From Andalusia the road leg is the dominant cost. Malaga, Marbella, Estepona, Mijas, Fuengirola and Torremolinos all sit around 600 kilometres from Valencia, which is a full day before anything reaches a ship.
Madrid sits between the two ports at roughly 350 kilometres either way. Bilbao, Santander and the north coast are further from both and sometimes route through a northern port instead, which is a longer sea leg entirely.
Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca goods travel to the mainland by ferry first. That leg is short and regular, but it is a scheduled service and it has to line up with the container.
The Canaries are a different proposition again. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura sit off the African coast. And goods from there need their own sea leg to the mainland before the Cyprus route even starts. Allow a lot more time.
Say at the enquiry which island. A Canaries collection quoted as a mainland one is a quote that does not apply.
Spain and Cyprus are both EU member states, so goods already in free circulation move without extra customs duty. Proof of Union status, using T2L or T2LF documents, is what you need.
If your goods originally came from the UK and were imported into Spain under a relief claim, mention it. It rarely causes a problem but it is better raised than discovered.
Say whether the Cypriot property is your main residence or a holiday home. Rules change, so use the Republic of Cyprus Department of Customs and Excise for the current position, and GOV.UK if any leg touches Britain.
Confirm which port, what the road leg from your town costs, how often the service sails, and whether the quote ends at Limassol or continues to the door. A moving company working the Valencia service will answer all three without checking.
If you are on an island, settle the ferry or inter-island leg first. It is the part that most often decides the date.
A large share of the people who use this are outside the UK. Some ask for movers, some for a removal company, some for relocation services. Use whichever term you like; the answer does not change.

Yes. Balearic goods travel to the mainland by ferry first. The leg is short and regular, but it is a scheduled service that has to line up with the container, so allow a little more notice.
No. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura sit off the African coast and need their own sea leg to the mainland before the Cyprus route starts. Allow a lot more time and say which island at the enquiry.
Rarely, but mention it. If the goods were imported into Spain under a relief claim it is better raised at the enquiry than discovered later. And a mover who knows can document it correctly.
You show Union status with a T2L or T2LF. Both countries are EU member states, so goods already in free circulation move without extra customs duty and no relief claim is needed.
Anywhere in the Republic. Goods arrive at Limassol and travel on to Paphos, Larnaca, Nicosia or the Famagusta free areas, a road leg of up to about 100 kilometres.
These towns are all served. Access is what separates an easy job from a slow one.
Give the pick-up town, the destination, the move date and an approximate inventory. The mover checks access at both ends and the paperwork, then contacts you.
