Cargo for St Lucia is usually transhipped, sailing first to a regional hub and then on to the island by feeder vessel, so the run takes a little longer than the most direct routes. As a rough guide, allow three to five weeks door to door, plus packing before and customs after. Everything clears at Port Castries, the island's main commercial seaport in the capital, with Vieux Fort in the south as a secondary port near Hewanorra International Airport.
