Sending furniture to Jamaica, from a single sofa to a whole houseful? We connect you with one vetted partner who packs, crates, dismantles, ships and reassembles your pieces. Big, heavy and awkward items are their everyday work. It's free to ask.
✅ The quick answer — One item or a whole room: we connect you with one vetted partner. Free.
📦 Packed and crated — Blankets, wrap, edge protection and timber crates for fragile or heavy pieces.
🔨 Dismantle and reassemble — Beds, wardrobes and tables taken apart and rebuilt at your address.
🚚 How it ships — A single item in a shared container, or a full container for lots.
⏱️ How long — About 2 to 3 weeks at sea, 3 to 4 weeks door to door with clearance.
📍 Where it clears — At Kingston or Montego Bay, then on to your room of choice.
Furniture shipping suits anyone sending specific pieces rather than barrels of small goods or a packed-up home. That might be one item, a few favourites you can't replace, or every room. Whatever the load, each piece is packed and protected for the crossing to Kingston or Montego Bay, and big, heavy or awkward items are handled as routine.
Sofas and armchairs, beds and mattresses, wardrobes, chests, dining sets, desks and bookcases.
Pianos, marble and glass tables, large appliances and white goods, garden furniture and antiques.
A single piece travels in a shared container; a full room or home takes a full 20ft or 40ft container.
The difference between furniture arriving perfectly and arriving damaged is the preparation. Your vetted partner does the lot, so you don't lift a finger beyond pointing at what's going.
Furniture blankets, bubble wrap, and edge and corner protection around every piece.
Made-to-measure timber crates for fragile, heavy or high-value items, heat-treated to ISPM-15.
Beds, wardrobes and large tables taken apart for transit and rebuilt at your Jamaica address.
Pieces loaded and lashed in the container so nothing shifts on the crossing.
Moving a whole home, with packing, shipping and delivery end to end.
Shared or full 20ft and 40ft containers for a large load or whole home.
Clothes, food and gifts in a barrel from around £80.
Barrel, container and furniture prices compared, and how to spend less.
Furnishing a home in Jamaica often means spending locally as well as shipping, so a fair rate on the pounds you change matters. For years we've connected customers with trusted partners who handle any currency, so changing money for your move is one less thing to worry about.
If you're a returning resident, a Jamaican who has lived abroad for three consecutive years or more and is coming home to stay, used household effects including furniture can be cleared duty-free. You attend an interview at the Returning Residents Unit at Kingston or Montego Bay with your passport, your Unaccompanied Baggage Declaration (Form C27) and your TRN, and bring the goods in within six months. Everyone else gets a duty-free allowance of US$1,000 on personal and household goods; above that, import duty plus 15% GCT applies, and an environmental levy and customs fee may apply on some items. Wooden crates must be heat-treated and ISPM-15 stamped, and your partner makes sure the paperwork is right.
Furniture shipping runs in both directions. As well as sending pieces into Jamaica, we connect people moving furniture and large items out of the island to the UK and the USA, the two homes of the largest Jamaican communities overseas. The packing, crating and reassembly are the same; the customs changes at the other end, and your vetted partner handles it. Heading to the States? See shipping from Jamaica to the USA.
Furniture clears at Kingston or Montego Bay and is delivered to any address on the island, then reassembled in the room you choose. Pick your area for local detail, or start a quote and give the full address.
