Changchun is a car city in a forest city, and one of the very few Chinese cities that was comprehensively planned before it grew. Wide boulevards, radiating avenues and a great deal of green space make it an unusually easy place to deliver into, provided the ground is not frozen.

Nanguan and Kuancheng, the older central districts, are conventional urban China with a mix of older and newer stock.
The automotive development zone in the south west is built around the vehicle industry, which is the city's dominant employer and the reason for a substantial German and Japanese business population. Housing there is a mix of company accommodation and newer compounds, and the roads are wide because they were built for industrial traffic.
The city also holds a museum in a preserved palace complex from the 1930s, which sits in a conservation area with some access restrictions nearby.
Winter is the practical constraint. From November to March temperatures sit around minus twenty for extended periods. Liquids left in a container overnight will freeze and burst. Crews work shorter days, ice rules out a barrow on any slope, and a delivery in February takes noticeably longer than the same job in September.
