Vaud without the lake shore premium, and flat ground the whole way in.
Yverdon-les-Bains sits at the southern end of Lake Neuchâtel, in the quieter northern part of the canton of Vaud. It is flat, well connected and considerably less congested than the Lake Geneva shore, which is much of its appeal.
Almost every Vaud town involves a slope. Lausanne climbs several hundred metres, Vevey has vineyard terraces behind it, Montreux rises towards Caux, Nyon sits on a rise above its harbour. Yverdon does not do any of that.
