Denmark has the shortest domestic leg of the Nordic countries and one of the shortest in Europe. Nowhere in the country is far from a port, and the feeder south to Rotterdam or Antwerp is a matter of a day rather than a week.
Aarhus is the largest container port and Copenhagen the busiest for passenger and general traffic. From either, goods feeder to a North Sea hub and join the long-sea service to Limassol.
Domestic distances are small. Copenhagen to Aarhus is about 190 kilometres, Odense sits between them, and Aalborg is roughly 300 from the capital. Nothing in Denmark is a long drive by continental standards.
Arrival is at Limassol, then up to about 100 kilometres on to Paphos, Larnaca, Nicosia or the Famagusta free areas.
The road leg is the easy part and it is not where the time goes. The sea route runs north from the Danish coast to a hub port, then the length of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. The whole journey is measured in weeks.
Ask for a door to door window rather than a sailing time, and ask specifically about the feeder connection. Two Danish quotes that differ usually differ on how long the goods sit between the two legs.
Because the sea leg is long, a shared container is in proportion better value here than on the short Mediterranean crossings. The waiting is a smaller share of a bigger total.
Danish shipments to Cyprus divide fairly neatly. Retirement moves take the full household and go once. Posting-enders and remote workers take a part load: the good furniture, the books, and whatever is not worth replacing twice.
