A role moves from Dubai to Singapore. A purchase abroad falls through and a different city opens up. A posting is reassigned. International removal companies see it more often than anybody admits, and what you can still alter depends almost entirely on how far along the shipment is.

Containerised storage costs a weekly rate. Unstuffing a sealed container and rebooking a sailing costs a great deal more than several weeks of that rate, so the arithmetic rarely needs doing twice.
Say at the quote stage that the destination is not final. A firm told that will structure the job differently from one told a country and a date, and the difference shows up if the plan moves.

A moving company writes customs paperwork for one destination. Change the country and the export entry, the shipping documents and any licence all have to be produced again for the new one, which is where most of the cost of a late change sits.
Your valued inventory survives intact, which is a small mercy. Write it properly once and it serves whichever country you end up in, because it describes your goods and not your route.
