A shared, or groupage, container is the budget-friendly choice for a part load. Your goods share the box with other shipments and you pay only for the space they take, so it's ideal for a few rooms, a returning-national load or anything short of a full house. A full container, 20ft or 40ft, is sole-use: faster to load and seal, more secure, and the better value once you're moving most of a home. It can carry a car as well.
As a rule of thumb, a 20ft container holds the contents of a small two to three-bedroom home, and a 40ft holds a larger three to four-bedroom home, with room for a car in a full load. Volumes vary with how much furniture you have, so treat this as a guide and let your partner survey to be sure.

A container is the right home for furniture and bulky items.
