Grenada welcomes its people home through the Welcome Home Programme, run by the Returning Nationals Facilitation Bureau at the Ministry of Finance. If you're a Grenadian returning from abroad to live permanently, you can bring your used household and personal effects in free of customs duty, VAT and the service charge, up to a value of 75,000 East Caribbean dollars, plus a 50 per cent concession on one vehicle. There's no vehicle concession on cars five years or older.
It covers the things that make a home, furniture, household equipment, appliances, clothing and tools of trade, though not building materials, foodstuff or liquor. We connect you with one vetted partner who knows the process inside out.
The concession is applied for, not automatic. You apply to the Returning Nationals Facilitation Bureau, which issues a letter of concession. A broker then prepares a customs declaration listing the quantity and value of each item, alongside a detailed inventory and the bill of lading for your container. The claim should be made within three months either side of your return. Goods can be shipped in advance, held by the Grenada Ports Authority, and cleared by a representative once a deposit is lodged. Your vetted partner and broker handle it all, so the concession is approved before your goods are released.
Most home moves go in a shared or full container.

Every parish and service for Grenada.
The concession covers used effects within the EC$75,000 allowance. Anything above it may attract duty on the excess, plus VAT at 15% on the landed value. The vehicle concession is 50 per cent, not full relief, and never applies to cars five years or older; an environmental levy of 2 per cent of CIF applies to qualifying vehicles. A 6 per cent customs service charge still applies on imports under the programme. Building materials, foodstuff and liquor are excluded. Your partner and the broker tell you clearly what qualifies and what, if anything, is due before you ship.
Coming home usually means moving money too. The local currency is the East Caribbean dollar. For years we've connected customers with trusted partners who handle any currency, so the money side is simple. It's offered through our partners, with no hidden fees.
The programme rewards getting the paperwork right. We connect you with one partner who handles it, working hand in hand with established overseas removal companies and international movers. For a full home, partners hold FIDI FAIM accreditation, the global benchmark, with BAR Overseas the UK marker, and a broker lodges the concession at the Port of St George's.
International Removals Companies isn't a shipper itself; we pass your enquiry to one vetted partner who does the work, free since November 2010, with more than 850,000 enquiries connected since. DATACONTEXT (UK) LTD, company 07425576, ICO ZB022743, Norman House, Saint Saviours Estate, Abbey Street, London, SE1 3DH. Working Member of AGM Group since 2010.

International Removals Companies is the official enquiry service for three FIDI FAIM and BAR Overseas certified international moving companies in AGM Group, members of IAM, EUROMOVERS and FEDEMAC. It works hand in hand with established overseas removal companies and international movers, and it's a free route-matching service that connects you with them, not a removal company itself, a man with a van or a house clearance service.
