This is the practical point and it is worth more than anything else on this page. People planning a move to central Prague usually cut their load, because city flats are small and the access is expensive. If you switch to Kladno, both of those constraints ease at once.
Ask your international moving company to price two volumes: the reduced load you had planned for a city flat, and the fuller one that a house would take. The difference in shipping cost is often smaller than the cost of replacing furniture at Czech retail prices once you arrive.
Removal companies will not raise this unprompted, because they are quoting what you asked for. Ask for both and compare them properly.
It happens more than you would think. One partner takes a flat in Prague near the office, the family home is in Kladno, and belongings need to be split between the two. Or a student goes into the city while the rest of the move goes to the town.

Relief from import duty on personal property comes from Council Regulation (EC) No 1186/2009: your normal home outside the EU for at least 12 continuous months, goods owned and used for at least six months before you left, entered for free circulation within 12 months of establishing residence. Alcohol and tobacco get no relief. You will need an EORI number and proof of your Kladno address.
