That makes the town prosperous and the housing competitive, but it also makes address confirmation more important than usual.

Delivery access along the promenade and through the centre is materially harder in those weeks, so plan around them if your dates allow.
Bregenz is reached through southern Germany to Lindau and over the border, with no Alpine pass and no tunnel toll on the route. That is why Vorarlberg prices at the bottom of the Austrian range and why transit is a day shorter than to Vienna.

Bregenz splits into two. The lower town along the lake is modern, flat and straightforward, with parking, lifts and vehicle access to most buildings.
The Oberstadt, the medieval upper town behind its walls, is the opposite: steep, narrow, and unreachable by a full-size lorry. Addresses up there usually need a transfer to a smaller vehicle and a longer carry, which should be quoted rather than discovered.
During the festival the lakefront and the streets around the Festspielhaus operate under restrictions and heavy pedestrian traffic. A July or August delivery into the centre is slower and more expensive. Late spring and September are the easy windows.
