Kuantan has a port and it will not be handling your furniture. The road crosses Selangor and the interior of Pahang from the Malacca Strait to the South China Sea, climbing over the spine of Peninsular Malaysia on the way. Most households travel as a part load, sharing a container and paying for the cubic metres occupied, though on this route there is an argument for sole use that does not apply nearer the port.
The northeast monsoon delivers its heaviest rain to this coast over those months. Shipments still arrive and crews still work, but flooding closes roads at short notice. Book with a few days of slack rather than to a fixed date, and settle in advance who pays for storage if the lorry cannot get through. That conversation is much easier before the rain than during it.

The usual argument for a full container is volume. Here there is a second one: handling.
A shared container is stripped at a warehouse after clearance and your portion reloaded for the onward journey. On a short run into the Klang Valley that hardly matters. On a full day across the peninsula, fewer handling stages and one continuous journey is a genuine advantage for anything fragile.
