The village is a few minutes from junction 20 of the M1, so once a load is out on the main road the journey is quick. Getting it out is the part worth planning.
Verges are the specific hazard here. They look solid in August and swallow a wheel in February. International movers who winch a vehicle off a soft verge has lost the day, and the damage bill goes somewhere.

Village houses hold furniture that never came from a shop. Dressers built in the room. Refectory tables that arrived through a doorway since narrowed. Beams that decide how high a wardrobe can stand.
Anything that was assembled in place has to be taken apart in place, and old joinery does not always want to. Outbuildings are the local trap. Stables, workshops, a barn with forty years of tools in it. Walk the surveyor round all of it, and get reassembly at the destination written into the quote and not assumed.
Fuel, gas bottles, paint and garden chemicals cannot go in a container at all. Clear them well before the day.

The important distance is between the international movers and your destination, not between the mover and your gate.
