Most of what we do is moves to Grenada, but plenty of people move the other way, back to the UK after years on the island, students heading over to study, or families sending belongings to relatives. The shipping idea is the same, just reversed: your goods are packed and loaded in Grenada, sail from the Port of St George's, and clear customs at a UK port such as Southampton, Tilbury or Felixstowe. What changes is the customs at the UK end, and that's where it pays to have a partner who knows the rules.
If you're moving your normal home to the UK, you may claim Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief, which lets you bring used household goods and personal belongings in free of UK import duty and VAT. The main conditions: you've lived outside the UK for at least 12 months, you've owned and used the goods for at least 6 months, and they're for your own use, not for sale. The catch is timing: you apply to HMRC with a ToR1 form and must have the approval reference before your goods reach the UK, as customs won't release them without it. You'll also need an inventory and the bill of lading. If you're only sending gifts, that's not a transfer of residence, so UK import VAT, currently 20%, and any duty may apply.
