Paphos district holds the largest British community in Cyprus, and most of it does not live in Paphos town. It lives in the ring of villages above and around it. That single fact shapes almost every removal that comes here, because the last two miles are usually harder than the two thousand before them.

Around 25,000 UK nationals live in the district, and the 2021 census put roughly 40 per cent of the district population as non-Cypriot. Chloraka, Tala, Peyia, Emba, Geroskipou, Kissonerga, Kathikas and Tsada carry a good share of that. Kato Paphos by the harbour and Ktima in the upper town are the two halves of the town itself.
Goods from the UK do not arrive in Paphos. They clear customs at Limassol and travel the last 65 kilometres or so by road, which is roughly an hour on the motorway. That leg is included in a door to door quote and separated out in a port to door one, so check which you have been given.
Paphos Airport takes direct flights from a long list of UK cities, which is why air freight comes up here more than elsewhere on the island. It suits a few urgent boxes. For furniture it is rarely worth the difference.
The relief that matters here is transfer of normal residence, granted on form Aπ. 2. It covers used personal effects, it needs six months of prior ownership, and it does not cover anything bought for the new house.

Often not directly. Older lanes in Tala, Kathikas and upper Peyia are too narrow for an articulated lorry. The goods are usually shuttled in by smaller van from a wider point nearby, which is normal here and should be priced into the quote.
Published sea transit to Limassol runs about 13 to 16 days depending on the operator. Add collection in the UK, the wait for a part load to fill, customs clearance and the road leg to Paphos. Ask for a door to door window rather than a sailing time.
For a few urgent boxes, sometimes. Paphos Airport takes direct UK flights, which makes it simpler than on some crossings. For furniture the cost difference against sea freight is large enough that very few people choose it.
Someone needs to be there to receive and check the delivery, but it does not have to be you. Tell the mover early if a neighbour, agent or family member will be taking delivery, so the paperwork names the right person.
Transfer of residence relief applies when Cyprus becomes your main home. Furnishing a second or holiday home is treated differently and duty and VAT may be payable. Say so before booking so the shipment is declared correctly.
